Naar aanleiding van de publicatie van het Portret 2024 bevestigt gedelegeerd bestuurder Luc Rodesch, hoofd Private Banking en lid van de raad van bestuur samen met David Schmidt, Managing Director, opnieuw de waarden waar Banque de Luxembourg voor staat, en deelt hij zijn visie op de uitdagingen die de toekomst ons zal brengen.

At this time of geopolitical and economic uncertainty, what measures is Banque de Luxembourg taking to ensure you continue to be your clients’ trusted partner?

Our priority is to preserve and enhance our clients' wealth. Our prudent approach means we steer clear of short-lived fads and place particular importance on risk management.

We are committed to communicating our decisions and the reasons for them in a transparent manner. We also make sure that the professionalism of our teams and the quality of our services meet the industry's highest standards. This approach enables us to offer our clients maximum protection against the repercussions of an unfavourable economic climate.

How do you contribute to protecting the interests of your stakeholders?

We have long been committed to serving all our stakeholders – in other words our clients, employees, shareholders and the wider community. To this end we obtained B Corp certification in 2023. This enables us to direct our actions according to an ambitious roadmap and evaluate their progress over time, as well as assess the positive impact generated. The solutions we offer must contribute to a better world. This is an unshakeable pledge and underpins all the Bank's activities.

In practical terms, how are you preparing to meet the challenges of the future?

In our role as bankers, as the intermediary between savers and those seeking finance, we are directly exposed to the many challenges facing our planet. Our duty is to weather every storm. Since the 2008 financial crisis, we have optimised our governance and simplified our structures: strengthening our risk policy and prudential ratios, rigorously implementing new regulations, and increasing our capital base.

We are an attentive bank, united by our core values, and we hope to enjoy our clients’ confidence for many years to come.
